gear and shack

my shack

my shack currently consists of the following gear:

- ICOM IC-7300
- Xiegu G90
- Powerwerks SS30DV Power Supply
- Windows 10 Pro computer running Intel Pentium w/ 16gb of RAM
- Powerwerks ampmeter on the PSU
- 2x Dell monitors from like 2010
- LaCrosse Technologies Internal Thermometer
- 2x reading lights/work lights for lighting (CFLs in shack generate lots of RFI)
- JBL Flip 6 for external audio
- Headset for RemoteHamRadio operation
- Logitech mouse and keyboard
- K0EFW LED booth sign
I currently operate out of the shed in our backyard which I call the shack anyway. There is full house AC out there as well. I made sure to RF choke everything.

antennas

these are the antennas I currently use:

HF (80-10):
End Fed Half Wave I constructed myself
I also use a Buddipole Deluxe with the long whips and it works great.

VHF (2):
Ladder line J-pole from K8MRD

I usually operate FT8 and SSB

I will typically use a service called RemoteHamRadio. They offer remote stations across the country and even in places like Croatia and Haiti.

If you see me at a FT8 grid square that is not "CM97", then I am operating remote. Nothing special needed though.
